The Mascoat Advantage
What makes Mascoat different from other insulation coatings? Precision-formulated, customized products paired with onsite leading engineers and a dedicated support team.
We provide coatings that protect and insulate industrial, commercial, marine, and automotive substrates around the world. While most of our competitors offer a “one-size-fits-all” approach to insulating coatings, Mascoat engineers and manufactures a product line that fulfills market-specific needs. Our products are tested to the highest standards and are proven to conserve energy, protect personnel, save time, money and manpower.
At Mascoat, we value experience and knowledge. Our team is comprised of industry leading experts and engineers, top skilled sales and support staff, and a dedicated group of distributors and applicators. We are a problem-solving solutions provider and the unique combination of our technology, application history, and extensive testing and engineering provides the best coatings product available for thermal protection, condensation protection and sound control.
Research and Development
Our Research and Development team is led by insulating coatings pioneer George More at the Mascoat corporate location in Houston, TX. We manufacture 100% of our product in-house, which allows us to oversee every detail of product development and ensure that the highest level of quality is maintained throughout the process. All Mascoat coatings undergo multiple rigorous and independent testing procedures to ensure performance. We work closely with accredited third party testing organizations such as the Underwriter's Laboratory, Southwest Research Institute, Noise Control Engineering and MAS Green Labs. We also conduct detailed, in-house research and testing that exceeds industry standard testing, in order to verify our coatings’ performance.
Mascoat is the first and only insulating coatings manufacturer to conclusively prove, in a study presented to NACE, that our coatings are effective and successful in protecting personnel from burns in the workplace. This study along with our personnel protection line of coatings will help plant and facility managers reduce recordable injury rates, save time and money.
Thermal Engineering and Forecasting
We are the only insulating coatings company on the market today that employs a thermal engineer with an MS in Mechanical Engineering and certifications in 3-D modeling, Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). This expertise allows Mascoat to not only formulate premium coatings, but to accurately forecast how our coatings will perform on any substrate, in any circumstance.
Taking into account environmental conditions, substrate geometry, product type and temperature, we can also provide clients with a Thermal Analysis Report that estimates required product quantity, efficiency improvements and energy savings. In energy retention applications, clients also learn when they can expect a return on their Mascoat investment.
Mascoat’s insulating coatings begin in our state-of-the-art laboratory, where each batch is mixed using quality-controlled ingredients and proprietary manufacturing processes. Our focus on product quality allows us to guarantee our coatings, and when necessary, to produce coating and color variations that suit our client’s unique application needs.
Our products are batch-made in accordance with the Underwriters Quality Assurance Program, and are controlled via computerized tracking lot numbers. Each batch must pass a stringent 32-point check to maintain Mascoat’s specified quality standards, ensuring that clients receive a consistent, high-quality product every time they order and re-order.
