A waste service company in Amsterdam was having issues with the amount of noise being produced by their bare steel (dump) containers in residential areas. After receiving multiple complaints, the company looked at different solutions to help reduce the noise levels. In their search online for a solution, the company found Mascoat and contacted the Holland office to learn more about Sound Control-dB. The spray-applied coating effectively reduces vibrational noise, helping to keep metal surfaces, such as the waste containers, from sounding like you are knocking on a tin drum.
They applied 80 mils (2 mm) of the coating in 4 separate coats and put the containers back into service. Ever since, the company has not received a noise complaint stemming from the sound of the metal containers. Since customer satisfaction is a top priority for this group, they plan on using the coating on all new containers.
