Due to the threat of global warming and the steady increase of the cost of energy, many so-called “cool-roof coatings” have gained a great deal of attention in the past few years. In fact, many cities are incentivizing businesses to use them on building roofs in an attempt to reduce cooling costs in summer months.
David Hunter will speak to the SSPC attendees about how thermal insulation coatings can provide the same UV reflection as CRC’s, but can offer greater returns on investment for these businesses and municipalities. Thermal insulation coatings have a much broader range of use, and do not simply reflect the sun's energy, but can actually reduce temperature across the medium in either direction. That is, they can actually do what a CRC can do, but also can keep heat inside a structure.
