The Dow facility in Midland, Michigan turned to Mascoat to combat a major condensation and corrosion problem on the main pipeline that brought water into the plant. The difference between its internal water temperature (around 45?F) and the ambient temperature (around 85?F during summer months) would cause condensation. The condensation was absorbed by the insulation covering the pipe, making the surrounding environment very humid, causing corrosion and recurring maintenance issues.

A Mascoat Specialist recommended 140 mils of Mascoat’s specialized anti-condensation coating, Mascoat Industrial-AC.

The coating created a barrier that blocked the transmission from cold to hot temperatures and since application, Dow has been able to prevent condensation and corrosion.
