Poly Tank Coating

The Australian Poly Tank Company was seeking a way to reduce solar heat gain within a poly-tank, containing chilled water.  Mascoat Industrial – DTI was recommended as the solution that would be long-term and durable while reducing solar heat gain.

 

The external surface of the tank was coated with 2 layers of 0.5 mm each to reach a DFT of 1.0 mm to provide protection from solar heat gain and keep the cold temperature within the tanks during overnight periods.

 

On completion of the application, there was a noticeable reduction in the solar heat gain, allowing the tanks to maintain the chilled temperature of water contained within. As a result, the client was happy with the application. Mascoat can also be tinted to increase its effectiveness. In this case, the application was white to aid the reduction in solar heat gain and maximize the reflection of solar heat.
